About our calculations

Gambling Calculator is a free collection of calculators and guides for odds, payouts and probability. Every result states its inputs, formula and assumptions, so you can check how it was worked out.

What the site offers

The site offers calculators and guides covering fixed-odds conversion, parlays and round robins, no-vig prices, arbitrage and hedging, expected value, roulette, casino table payouts, keno and lottery odds, horse-racing tickets and poker equity.

Each tool answers one defined question. The gambling odds calculator converts a price; the roulette odds calculator settles every pocket of the wheel; the poker odds calculator enumerates every remaining board exactly. You can browse them all from the calculator directory.

Who it is for

The calculators are for adults who want to understand the arithmetic of a game or a bet: what a price implies, how a payout is settled, how likely an outcome is and what the house edge means over many plays.

They are also useful for students and writers who need a checked worked example. The site does not accept bets, recommend operators or predict results.

A result you can check

Every tool states its inputs, formula and supported rules. We use independent arithmetic checks and known boundary cases to test outputs. Rounding happens for display after the underlying calculation.

How a calculator is built

  • The rule set is written down first: the game variant, the payout ratios and what each input means.
  • The formula is implemented as a pure function, separate from the page, and tested against independently calculated examples.
  • Edge cases are tested deliberately: zero and certain probabilities, void legs, overlapping roulette bets, cent rounding and duplicate poker cards.
  • Exact methods are preferred. Poker equity is enumerated over every remaining board rather than estimated by random sampling.
  • Inputs are validated. An empty field is never treated as zero, and an invalid entry keeps the last valid result clearly labeled.

Education, not real-money play

Gambling Calculator does not accept bets or deposits, choose an operator or predict an outcome. An example stake is a number used to explain a calculation.

Understanding probability does not make a bet safe. Read keep gambling decisions separate from the math before using any figure to decide whether to play.

Editorial principles

  • Separate probability, payout and expected value. They answer different questions and are always labeled separately.
  • State assumptions beside the result instead of hiding them in small print.
  • Label rule variations, such as 3:2 versus 6:5 blackjack or La Partage, instead of presenting one universal answer.
  • Never describe a calculation as a prediction, a system or a guaranteed return.
  • Keep the content independent: the site carries no advertising, operator promotions or affiliate links.

Sources and corrections

Game definitions are checked against published rule sources. Mathematical examples are calculated for the exact assumptions shown. When a rule varies, we label that variation instead of assigning one universal result.

If you find an error, e-mail contact@gamblingcalculator.co with the page, the inputs you used and the result you expected. Confirmed errors are corrected on the page.

Ownership and independence

Gambling Calculator is an independent website at gamblingcalculator.co. It is not affiliated with any casino, sportsbook, lottery or racing operator.

Exact calculations, supplied models and their limits

Some tools enumerate possible outcomes directly, including known-hand poker equity, video-poker holds and baccarat shoe outcomes. Others require a probability or rule model supplied by you, such as a slot jackpot probability or an expected-value scenario. These are different forms of evidence; an exact calculation does not validate an unsupported input.

The blackjack hand comparison uses infinite-deck probabilities, selected split/surrender rules and a model-specific two-card strategy chart. It does not use finite-shoe composition. The seed verifier checks a revealed seed against a hash commitment; it does not reproduce every named game. Each limitation is displayed with the relevant tool rather than presenting one universal answer.

Results are checked with known examples, independent arithmetic and boundary-case tests. Public tools run their calculations in your browser; card hands, seed-verifier inputs and stake calculations are not sent to a calculation service. Only a submitted contact message goes to the contact backend.

How to reproduce a calculation check

Use the worked-example buttons to load the inputs, then compare the displayed result with the arithmetic in the guide. The calculation code and its tests are separate: tests include independent arithmetic examples, known reference values, settlement boundaries and invalid inputs. Automated checks reduce errors but do not certify a probability estimate, guarantee a result or replace specialist review.

  • Parlay: $10 at 2.00 × 1.50 × 2.00 returns $60. A 20% boost to the $50 profit raises the return to $70.
  • Round robin: three 2.00 selections in doubles produce three tickets. A $10 total budget splits $3.34 / $3.33 / $3.33 and returns $40 if all win.
  • Hedge: $20 at 5.00 and an opposing $30 stake at 2.00 produce $50 net if the original wins or $10 if the opposite wins.

AI-assisted development and editing are used to help prepare code, explanations and tests. Numerical output comes from the stated mathematical models. We do not present AI-generated identities, qualifications or testimonials as independent expert review. To report a discrepancy, use Contact and include the inputs, selected rules and copied result.
