Three ways to write the same odds
American +150, decimal 2.50 and fractional 3/2 describe the same winning profit. A $100 stake earns $150 profit and returns $250 including the original $100. Negative American odds use a different conversion: −200 becomes decimal 1.50.
Implied probability is a price conversion
Divide one by decimal odds to convert a quoted price into implied probability. At 2.50 the result is 40%. This is not an independent prediction. For a whole market, prices can include a margin; the no-vig tool normalizes the full set.
Profit, return and settlement
Net profit excludes the original stake. Total return includes it. A losing bet returns nothing, while a push or void normally returns the stake under the assumed rules. The calculator does not check operator-specific settlement, dead heats or promotional caps.
How a profit boost changes the price
A 20% profit boost at decimal 2.50 changes the profit multiplier from 1.50 to 1.80, giving decimal odds of 2.80. It does not multiply the returned stake. Enter the promotion percentage only when that is how the stated offer works.
American moneyline, decimal and fractional odds
A moneyline calculator uses the American price, not a point spread. Positive +150 means $150 profit on a $100 winning stake; −200 means staking $200 to earn $100. Both describe a payout, rather than a measured chance of winning.
To convert fractional a/b to decimal odds, use 1 + a/b. Thus 20 to 1 is 21.00 decimal; 2.0 to 1 is 3.00 decimal. Decimal odds include the returned stake. An odds converter changes the notation without changing the underlying payout.

Convert odds to probability or a percentage to odds
The price-implied probability is 1 divided by decimal odds. At 2.50 it is 40%. Converting a chosen 25% probability to a fair price gives decimal 4.00, fractional 3/1 and American +300. The word fair describes your supplied probability, not certainty about the outcome.
Use the no-vig fair odds calculator when you have all prices in a market and want to remove their overround. A price for one outcome alone cannot reveal the bookmaker margin.
How to use a betting payout calculator
Select the odds format, enter the quoted price and enter the stake. Read net profit separately from total return: total return = stake × decimal odds; net profit = stake × (decimal odds − 1). A lost bet returns zero, while a full push or void returns the stake.
For example, $25 at decimal 1.80 returns $45 and makes $20 profit if it wins. For a profit boost, the percentage applies to profit odds, not the original stake. A 20% boost changes 1.80 to 1.96, giving $49 return on $25.
For separate win and place stakes use the each-way bet calculator. For two win-only conditional orders use the reverse bet calculator. Those settlement models require more than a single winning price.
Football, baseball, tennis and boxing odds
The sport does not change fixed-odds payout arithmetic. Enter the price for the exact market you are considering. A spread or total needs the settlement rules as well as its quoted price; this tool does not derive a team’s win probability from a handicap.
Horse racing odds and casino payout ratios
Use fractional odds to calculate a fixed-odds horse-racing win. For pool-based exactas, trifectas and superfectas, use the exotic wager calculator and the official dividend. A casino ratio such as 35:1 can be converted here, but game-specific rules belong in the dedicated payout tool.
