What is a ladder challenge in betting?

A ladder challenge commonly describes reinvesting the full return from each winning bet into the next. With initial stake S, decimal D at every step and n consecutive wins, the final gross amount is SDⁿ. At $10 and 2.00 for ten wins, the all-win amount is $10240.

With independent equal win chance p, completing all steps has chance pⁿ. At 50% for ten steps it is 1/1024, about 0.09765625%. Any loss before completion ends this full-reinvestment model at zero. Calling it a ten-day challenge does not change the arithmetic.

Reinvesting a return does not create an edge

The gross amount rises conditionally while the probability of reaching it falls. Different odds or probabilities per step require multiplying each step’s values separately. Independence may fail for related selections.

This model is similar to an all-win parlay calculation but represents sequential reinvestment. It excludes withdrawals, partial reinvestment, fees and offers. A large conditional return is not a reliable plan.
