Count higher, lower and equal remaining ranks
Remove all visible cards before entering the remaining shoe. Add counts of ranks above the shown card for higher, below it for lower and equal to it for a tie. Divide each count by total remaining cards. In a fresh single deck after removing a seven, there are 28 higher cards, 20 lower cards and three other sevens.
With ace high, those probabilities are 28/51, 20/51 and 3/51. The three results sum to one. Changing ace order or treating ties as wins changes the settlement but not the stated counts.
Probability and payout remain separate
This model uses ace high and separate ties. It does not assume a branded high-low game’s deck replacement, rank ordering or tie rule. A finite shoe changes after every observed draw. Use expected value only after the payout and losing settlements are defined.
