Count possible selections
Choosing six different numbers from 49 creates 13,983,816 possible unordered selections. One selected combination has a one-in-13,983,816 chance of matching all six in this fair-draw model.
A separate bonus pool adds another factor
If a game also draws one number from a separate pool, multiply the main-draw combinations by that pool’s size. A bonus drawn from the same remaining main pool needs a different rule and is not the separate-pool option.
Odds are separate from prize value
This calculator does not forecast a jackpot, account for shared prizes or estimate after-tax winnings. The probability depends on the draw rules, while the value of a prize needs additional information.
EuroMillions and separate bonus selections
For a rule set choosing five main numbers from 50 and two separate bonus numbers from 12, the all-match denominator is C(50,5) × C(12,2) = 139838160. Enter 50 for the main pool, five drawn, 12 for the separate bonus pool and two bonus numbers drawn.
For a one-ball separate bonus rule, enter that pool and leave the bonus count at one. The main and separate bonus selections are each drawn without replacement. For any named lottery, verify its published draw rules first. This page calculates odds, rather than a cash prize or tax liability.
For a prize valuation, use lottery expected value. For a chosen cash payout after estimated tax, use the lottery and gambling tax estimator.
