Uniform random mine placement; distinct unrevealed picks and a user-supplied payout edge.

Mines probability without replacement

With N cells, m uniformly placed mines and k distinct chosen cells, all picks are safe with probability C(N−m,k)/C(N,k). Multiply successive safe chances: (N−m)/N, then (N−m−1)/(N−1), and so on. With 25 cells, three mines and five picks, the all-safe chance is about 49.56522%.

For a binary payout model with edge h, the gross multiplier consistent with that probability is (1−h)/p. This does not disclose which cells contain mines, and it does not guarantee that a named game uses that payout mapping.

Unknown mines and previously revealed cells

Every selected cell is distinct and mine placements are uniform in this model. If a safe cell has already been revealed, reduce the remaining grid size and count only further picks. A nonuniform grid, special bonus rule or different paytable needs its actual specification. The tool calculates chance rather than predicts positions.
