Illustrative inputs. Results depend on the assumptions shown.
A unit is a chosen reference amount
At a reference bankroll of $1,000 and a chosen unit of 1%, one unit is $10. Two units represent $20. The percentage is an input selected by the user, not a claim that the amount is affordable.
Keep the reference amount explicit
The same number of units can represent very different currency amounts. If the reference bankroll changes, recalculate the unit deliberately. The tool does not automatically increase stakes after wins or losses.
Percentage sizing does not remove risk
A unit system describes amounts. It does not change a game’s odds, eliminate variance or calculate risk of ruin. Do not use a theoretical bankroll figure as a substitute for a spending limit.
Bankroll units and gambling money slang
A unit is an amount you define. At a $1000 reference bankroll and a chosen 1% unit, one unit is $10, three units are $30 and eight are $80. A bankroll unit calculator translates that definition; it does not choose a risk level.
In common US betting slang, a dollar-denominated “dime” refers to $1000 and a “C-note” or “bill” to $100. Slang varies by context, so write the actual amount and currency instead of relying on the nickname.
For a mean-and-variance model use risk of ruin; percentages alone cannot calculate that risk.
