Lay payout ratios and commission
A lay wager wins if seven appears before the selected point under the stated rules. The net ratios before commission are 1:2 on 4 or 10, 2:3 on 5 or 9, and 5:6 on 6 or 8. These reverse the corresponding true win odds.
Laying $60 against 4 earns $30 before commission. If a 5% commission is charged on winning profit, subtract $1.50: net winning profit is $28.50 and total returned stake plus profit is $88.50. A commission on the $60 risk instead is $3.
The calculator models commission for a winning settlement only. It does not charge an upfront fee on losing outcomes or round to a table’s minimum commission. Those rules need separate inputs and can change expected value.
Lay odds versus other craps wagers
A lay bet, a place bet and odds behind Don’t Pass are separate wagers. Read the Massachusetts craps rules for a regulated example of game definitions; your table can have different commission conditions.
Use the craps payout calculator for supported place and line settlements, and craps house edge for a defined probability-and-payout comparison.
